KC ASCE Geotechnical Committee holds Annual Conference

The Kansas City Geotechnical Committee, under the leadership of Dick Vaeth (Black & Veatch) held their Annual Geotechnical Conference. The event was held at Black & Veatch’s Ruisch Auditorium in Overland Park, KS with almost 100 attendees. Every year, the committee puts a great program together in collaboration with the AEG and UMKC. This year, the Keynote Speaker was Dr. Jean-Louis Briaud from Texas A&M University presenting on The Observation Method of Bridge Scour. Additionally, the conference had 15 Gold and Silver Sponsors, and 5 graduate students from KU and Kansas State participated in a student poster competition.
