16TH ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT

  On August 5, 2022 the ASCE YMG held our 16th annual 4-person scramble charity golf tournament benefiting the KC STEM Alliance Civil Engineering & Architecture Day.

This year we are also remembered a dear friend and a fellow ASCE member, Mike Winckler, who passed away earlier this year. He devoted much of his time to the Kansas City Section ASCE. His first role was as Community Service Co-Chair of the YMG in 2008. He later served as the chairperson for this golf tournament.  He was also a three-time recipient of ASCE’s Outstanding Younger Member in the Public Sector award. Mike eventually became President of the YMG. He  then joined the Board of Directors of the Kansas City Section for 3 years with his last year serving as President. While performing his duties for the Kansas City Section, he was also the Practitioner Advisor for the Missouri State University Student Chapter for 2 years. Lastly, Mike served as the Chair for the Kansas City Section Centennial Celebration which took place last year.

We are thankful to all our sponsors and everyone who participated! We raised $17,000 for the KC STEM Alliance and $3,000 for the Miles A. Winckler Education Fund. We look forward to seeing you next year for another great round of golf!
